Hi happy reader,
I hope you've come over from Clifftripper in Italy to my home in Barraba.
The house has a name, Nelia, and she's a lovely old house.
Going to take you back over the last year and a bit and show you the house and what I've done to it.
This may take some time and over a few posts. So I hope you enjoy it as much as you did my journey in Italy.
Came here after trying to live out at the farm, Beulah. It was just too isolated out there as much as I love the country; so I went looking around and found this house located at Barraba, which is the closest town to Beulah.
It's a quiet town, which in some ways suits me, when I'm feeling content. At other times I have some serious doubts about what the hell I am doing here.
The good things are (and I want to dwell on the good things) that I'm on a few acres overlooking the Manilla river over to the west and to the east I have a view of the two churches, and its a short walk down to the shops, about 300 metres. Everything is within a five minute walk or a shorter bike ride.
I like the idea of a small village community. As the shit is going to hit the fan one day with the world, I'm in training to be well positioned to survive and live well into old age. Bring on the donkey and cart, I say.... but what about the internet?
Cosy little home for the Nelia frog.
